Frisco Chamber of Commerce 32nd Annual John Weinberg Golf Tournament
Frisco Chamber of Commerce will hold the 32nd Annual John Weinberg Golf Tournament on Monday, September 24, 2018 at TPC Craig Ranch, beginning with a shotgun start at 10:00 AM. TPC Craig Ranch’s outstanding championship layout ranks among the top private golf courses in the United States according to Golf Digest. Again this year, golfers in teams of four will compete for first, second, and third place. The golf tournament provides the opportunity for local businesses to build positive relationships within the business community and reward employees with a day out of the office. In addition to playing in the tournament, local businesses are participating as tent sponsors, banner sponsors, player gift bag donors, and volunteers. The tournament is named after former President of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Board and tournament founder, John Weinberg. For many years, Weinberg served as the tournament’s chairman. After his diagnosis with cancer, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Board named the tournament in his honor. John’s wife, Sharon Weinberg, attends the tournament each year. Former Mayor Bob Warren once summed up John’s life by saying that John was the best community man he had ever known, and John made it his business to find needs in the community and then worked until he found ways to meet those needs. “While there are several golf tournaments in town, the John Weinberg Golf Tournament is special to so many in this business community,” said Tony Felker, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “John loved Frisco and this tournament celebrates the growth and strength of business here, but it also recognizes the need to have fun and get to know one another outside of the office.” The Presenting Sponsor of the 32nd Annual John Weinberg Golf Tournament is Town & Country Roofing, Inc. “Town & Country Roofing looks for opportunities to give back to the community and we take pride in supporting this great Frisco tradition,” shared Ralph Harris, President of Town & Country Roofing.
