Collin County Business Development Center

The Collin Small Business Development Center, in Plano, TX, is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Texas, and Collin College. Through this partnership, one-on-one, confidential consulting is provided at no charge to businesses and residents of Collin and Rockwall Counties. Low and no charge workshops and seminars are scheduled on topics that are essential to business success.

Mission Statement
The Collin SBDC promotes small business success by providing management education. They assist small businesses in creating jobs and economic growth by utilizing the elements of quality counseling and training, community involvement and the leveraging of resources.

Cost for Services
There is no charge for consulting services and the majority of their seminars and workshops are also free. Occasionally, there may be a training event where a nominal fee is charged.

In addition to consulting and training, their office provides clients with access to:

  • Comprehensive resource library and computer workstation installed with the latest business software and programs such as Business Plan Pro and QuickBooks Pro
  • Industry experts who volunteer assistance to clients through training and consulting on topics such as social media and internet marketing, legal issues, accounting and taxes
  • Leaders in the North Texas region through partnering with community programs such as regional chambers of commerce, banks and economic development centers
