Things to See & Do
Frisco
is an ideal place to find all the things you
want to see and do, including golf, fishing,
biking, baseball, tennis, basketball,
volleyball, soccer and swimming. There are eight
public parks and trails located within the city
limits for hiking, walking, and family outings.
The Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Ballpark in Frisco
accommodates over 10,600 fans and is home to the
Frisco RoughRiders Double-A baseball team, an
affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
The Dr. Pepper StarCenter arena is the training
facility for the Dallas Stars hockey team and
the home for the Texas Tornado Junior Hockey
League Champions. And for ice skaters of all
ages and skill levels, The Ice at Stonebriar, an
NHL–sized ice rink located in Stonebriar Centre,
offers classes and public skating.
Frisco is now the home for the FC Dallas major
league soccer team at Pizza Hut Park. With
20,372 seats, the Park opened in 2005 and is
surrounded by 17 tournament-size soccer fields.
The Park also serves as a football stadium for
Frisco ISD and is available for concerts, public
entertainment and community events.
The Superdrome is a 2,200 seat stadium and
features a 250 meter, 44 degree banking inclined
track. Located at the Collin County Community
College Preston Ridge Campus, it is considered
one of the fastest low altitude outdoor tracks
in the world.
Canyons is a state of the art indoor climbing
facility for all ages and abilities, located
across from the new Pizza Hut Park.
Frisco is also home to a diverse performing and
fine arts community, including the Frisco
Chorale, the Frisco Community Theatre, and the
Frisco Association for the Arts. Word of Mouth
Productions is a performing company for
churches, women’s groups and other organizations
with Creative/Dramatic Arts ministries. These
groups are very active in Frisco and offer many
creative outlets for Frisco residents.
There is a wealth of shopping opportunity in
Frisco, including Stonebriar Centre, one of the
best shopping malls in the Southwest, the Centre
at Preston Ridge, Ikea - the world’s leading
home furnishings retailer and the first store of
its kind in the Metroplex, and unique shopping
and dining on Main Street in downtown Frisco.
