Frisco Chamber of Commerce Appoints Three New Members to Board of Directors

Each year, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors conducts a process to appoint new or reappoint Board Members. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce announces the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors. Joining the Board of Directors are Jeremy Howell, Scottish Rite for Children; Ashley Miller, National Breast Cancer Foundation; and Wesley Randall, UNT New College. “Our newest Board Members are already heavily engaged in our community and already making a positive impact in so many areas,” said Tony Felker, President and CEO, Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “These new Board Members bring a commendable level of expertise and will be an asset to the Frisco Chamber of Commerce.” The new Board members will be officially introduced at the Annual Meeting on February 1, 2019, but will take office effective January 1, 2019.  Retiring Directors, Heather Bowers, Lone Star Benefits, Inc.; Kevin Hodes, SWYPIT.com; Craig Moen, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC; and Steve Zeigler, Jersey Mike’s Subs will continue to serve until December 31, 2018. Keith Wright, BB&T, will finish the one-year term as Chair of the Board at the end of December 2018. C. John Scheef, III, Scheef & Stone L.L.P, current Chair-Elect, will begin a one-year term as Chair beginning January 1, 2019. The following Board Members have been reappointed: Ann Anderson, Anderson Agency, Farmers Insurance; Peter Burns; Karen Cunningham, The Hopkins Group; Lawrence Howorth, Howorth International; Vik Jain, Stonebriar Financial Services; Donnie Nelson, Texas Legends/Dallas Mavericks; Randy Nichols, Mossakowski & Nichols Wealth Management; and Keith Wright, BB&T. Remaining Board Members that will continue to serve: Mike Barber, BKM Sowan Horan, LLP; Mary Jo Dean, Texas Health Presbyterian Plano; Kristin Grammar, TIG Real Estate; Christal Howard, Community Impact Newspaper; Josh Meek, Meek Industries; Matthew Reiter, Whitley Penn; Paul Williams, Bison Financial, and Keith Wright, BB&T. About the New Board Members Jeremy Howell - Jeremy Howell joined Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in 1998 as Assistant Director of Volunteer Services. Since that time, he has been responsible for various areas of the hospital, including Human Resources and Staff Wellness, and served as Vice President of Research from September 2012 to April 2014. His responsibilities now include overseeing the Scottish Rite for Children’s Frisco Campus. Jeremy received a degree in Health Professions majoring in Hospital Administration from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. He received his Master’s of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. Ashley Miller – Ashley Miller was raised in West Monroe, Louisiana where she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelors in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Spanish. She spent every Summer on Cedar Creek Lake with family in Gun Barrel City and had her heart set on a Texas move since birth. Upon graduation, Ashley moved to Frisco, Texas where she still lives with her husband Justin, daughter Finley Lane, and rescue dogs Gavin and NOLA. Ashley is an avid sports fan and enjoys rooting on her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.  Ashley enjoys bridging gaps in the community and giving back. She currently serves on the Women Enhancing Business Council, is a member of the Frisco Young Professionals, and serves on the Board of Directors for Melody of Hope. On the weekends, you will find Ashley and her family at Hope Fellowship Church, Summer Moon Coffee, and more than likely enjoying their favorite food group: waffles with peanut butter. Wesley Randall – Wesley S. Randall, Ph.D. is a retired military officer with a combined 25+ years of expertise in the area of complex system, post-production support, and supply chain management. Following tours in Southwest Asia and Kosovo, Randall served as Chief of Engineering Management for NATO’s Airborne Warning and Control System. He went on to become a faculty member in the College of Business at Auburn University, then joined the University of North Texas as Assistant Professor of Logistics and as Coordinator of the Logistics Doctoral Program. In January 2017, he was named Chairman of UNT’s Department of Marketing and Logistics and, in March 2018, the Provost appointed him Dean of New College. In his current role, Randall will help develop curriculum and programming at the New College at Frisco to best serve the needs of students and area industry leaders. In addition, he is working to help UNT expand its presence in Collin County and solidify its partnerships with area community colleges. Randall earned his B.S. in basic academics from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He also holds an MPA from Valdosta State University in Georgia, a Master’s degree in Military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from UNT. Randall lives in Denton, Texas with his wife, Angela, who is a professor in the College of Education at UNT.
