Frisco Chamber of Commerce New Teacher Welcome

The Frisco Chamber of Commerce will welcome over 600 new Frisco Independent School District teachers and staff at the New Teacher Welcome on Monday, July 29, 2019. The New Teacher Welcome, presented by CoServ, will be held in two separate shifts at Lone Star High School, 2606 Panther Creek Parkway in Frisco. This event allows the business community to celebrate and welcome Frisco ISD’s newest teachers. The event is not open to the public. The theme of this year’s New Teacher Welcome is “Teachers Rock!” New teachers and staff will have the opportunity to visit over 50 vendor tables and receive door prizes and gift bag items donated by local businesses. In addition, the new teachers and staff will hear from Tony Felker, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Mike Waldrip, Superintendent, Frisco ISD; Vicki Sargent, CoServ; Allison Miller, Frisco Education Foundation; Chad Rudy, Frisco ISD Board of Trustees President; and the City of Frisco’s Mayor, Jeff Cheney. “Frisco is known for its quality education system as well as strong community partnerships. These two attributes are very important in attracting companies and their employees to the area,” said Tony Felker, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “Our business community understands the value of Frisco ISD and also the important role that the teachers and staff play in developing a future-ready workforce.” Other businesses sponsoring the New Teacher Welcome include Backstage Sponsor – KidZania; Encore Sponsors – Preston Trail Community Church and RBFCU; and Rock Star Sponsors – Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Centennial, Dave & Busters, United Educators Association, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Wells Fargo Bank, and Wise Orthodontics.
