Welcome to our newest teachers of Frisco ISD
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce was excited to welcome over 800 new teachers to Frisco ISD this year. Our district has over 65,000 students and will be opening two new schools this year.
Thank you to CoServ for once again supporting our event as the Presenting Sponsor.
Tumbleweed Textiles was also a fantastic supporter of this event, thank you!
The business community joined the fun and helped us welcome all the new teachers
We had over fifty businesses and eight food vendors attend the event and show their support.
This year, we took a new approach to our New Teacher Welcome by having our local restaurants bring some of their favorite menu items to share. The result? A taste of Frisco in the school cafeteria!
We turned the Gym at Emerson High School into a business expo center
Each business had an opportunity to interact with all the teachers as they worked their way through the business expo. This is such a great opportunity to feature your business, considering how influential teachers are in our community
Many of our members love to make new connections, and this event provided the perfect opportunity for that. It was awesome to see so many new teachers get welcomed into our community!
The door prizes, who doesn't love door prizes
We had an amazing time at the event, and many of our business community members stepped up and donated some exciting door prizes. Thank you for all your wonderful gifts, we know for sure that your donations were a big hit.
The Mayor of Frisco shares a story about one of his childhood teachers
One person can make a difference in a child’s life, and that’s something Mayor Cheney has seen first-hand. As he explains in this story about one of his teachers, and how she helped put him on the path that led him to where he is today.
123 Lucky Teachers
The Frisco Education Foundation (FEF), the non-profit arm that exists solely to serve Frisco ISD student and staff, partners with the Frisco Chamber each year to put on the New Teacher Welcome.
One of the highlights is receiving a $100 grant. This year, 123 very lucky teachers were selected at random to receive the grant. CoServ, a founding sponsors of FEF, set up an endowment many years ago to make these grants possible. To date, over $89,000 in grants have been given to new teachers to help set up their classrooms.
Didn't make it this year, that ok, we will be back again next year.
Be sure to visit our New Teacher Welcome page for regular updates and sponsorship opportunities.
