Meet Our New COO

Welcome, Christal!

In January 2023, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce hired Christal Howard as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Christal has been a member of the Frisco Chamber for nearly a decade and served as Board Chair in 2020. She has a strong passion for supporting local businesses and is excited to help the Frisco Chamber grow and thrive in its mission to support the business community.

“The Frisco Chamber has been a home away from home for me since 2013, when I first walked through its doors after moving to Frisco,” said Christal. “I have seen firsthand how vital the Frisco Chamber is in successfully growing a new business, and I am honored to have the opportunity to help pay it forward to other members of our community as the new COO. It’s exciting to be able to contribute to the future of the Frisco Chamber and help it continue to support the business community.”

As COO, Christal works closely with the President/CEO and the rest of the team to develop and implement strategies for the future of the Frisco Chamber. She is committed to continuing the work she started as Board Chair in 2020 and is ready to “finish what we started in visioning the Frisco Chamber of the future.”

Christal was formerly the DFW Publisher for Community Impact Newspaper and has previous experience leading communication strategy for a publicly traded company, as a tv news anchor, managing editor, and reporter. She has received numerous awards for her work and has a degree from Texas Tech University with a concentration in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. She and her husband Michael are raising their two kids in Frisco and are often running between cheer, soccer, or baseball practices. In their spare time, they enjoy volunteering in the community and serve on multiple boards.

Looking Ahead

“We are so excited that Christal has joined our team as COO. She has a deep understanding of the Frisco Chamber and our business community, having been an active member for many years. Her passion for supporting local businesses and her vision for the future of the Frisco Chamber make her the perfect fit for this role. She has already proven to be an invaluable asset to our team and to our community,” said Tony Felker, President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Christal, we can’t wait to introduce you to her!
