2021 Legacy Award

The Frisco Chamber of Commerce honored outstanding businesses, organizations, and citizens at its Annual Awards Celebration, presented by Texas Health Hospital Frisco on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Conference Center & Spa in Frisco. The theme this year, “Celebrate You,” honored the entire Frisco and area business community and was attended by over 600 of Frisco’s most influential business and community leaders. We will spend the next few months highlighting our award winners.

In addition to business awards, the nominating committee, comprised of past Citizen Award winners, selects individuals who have made a significant contribution to Frisco.

The Legacy Award, formerly known as the Silver Citizen Award, goes to the person or persons, who have made long-term contributions to the community or contributions of public service to Frisco over the past 25 years.

Mike and Sandy Simpson began impacting Frisco soon after they moved into Starwood over 25 years ago, and that has not stopped since that time. Notable accomplishments include Mike’s tenure as Frisco’s Mayor for six years, extensive involvement by one or both in the Heritage Association of Frisco, Frisco Family Services, Garden Club, Boys & Girls Club of Collin County, Frisco Rotary Club, and much much more! “We just don’t have time to document all 25+ years of service to the Frisco community,” the announcer read as Mike and Sandy took the stage. “Congratulations to Mike & Sandy Simpson!”
