Business Community Involvement: Merry Main Street

An Opportunity for the Business Community to Help

Please see the information below from the City of Frisco.

Holidays are just around the corner!  Santa and the City of Frisco need your help!

This year marks the 21th year for the ‘Kid’s Holiday Store’ in Frisco. This year, the event will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM It’s part of Merry Main Street presented by Texas Health Hospital Frisco.

It was designed to give young children an opportunity to ‘surprise’ their grownups with a wrapped gift – something they picked out on their own.  The store shelves have always been stocked with donated items, courtesy of our generous Frisco businesses and sponsors.

Over the years, the store shelves have been filled with the following:  restaurant and grocery gift cards; jewelry, sports & entertainment tickets; sports memorabilia; neck ties; tools; hotel stays; massages and beauty certificates; art; home décor; gift cards for services (like car washes) and much more!

Every year, this event is faced with a growing need to fill the store with more!  That’s what happens when you’re the fastest growing city in the country over the past decade! There are more kids who want to shop for their moms, dads or other special grownups. But your help is needed to stock the store.  (BTW, shoppers are accompanied by adult volunteer elves who help them peruse the store while their grownups wait in the City council chambers ‘next door’ to the store watching holiday movies.)  In the end, each young shopper leaves ‘the store’ with two wrapped gifts. Shoppers pay $12 for the two wrapped gifts.  Proceeds help underwrite the free event put on by the City of Frisco.

Not only is the ‘Kid’s Holiday Store’ a tradition – it’s nationally award winning!  In 2016, Frisco’s ‘Kid’s Holiday Store’ was recognized for “Most Creative Event with Fewest Dollars Spent.”

Again, the help of our business community is needed!  As a donor, your business will be recognized on the City of Frisco’s website, www.friscomerrymainstreet.com .  Emcees will recognize donors, as well.

Items can be delivered or shipped to the address below.
