Ronald McDonald House of Dallas is keeping families together, inspiring strength, and giving love and support to families whose children are receiving essential medical care.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Scottish Rite Frisco offers a special place of respite, relaxation and privacy within hospital walls. It provides a small oasis of calm and normalcy within the tense, chaotic medical setting – yet parents are just steps from their child’s bedside. The family room has a kitchenette and provides beverages and snacks to families utilizing this space. We also have two seating areas with televisions, a play area for kids, as well as a work space with computers.
In addition to serving families at Scottish Rite, we also provide hospitality bags to families with a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Texas Health Frisco. We also have hospitality carts to serve pediatric patients and their families at Medical City Frisco and Cook Children’s Prosper. These programs are all supported by volunteers as is our Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas can serve 89 families each night. RMHD is a safe haven that provides all the comforts of home, plus the compassion and hospitality of staff, volunteers and other families – all just steps away from the hospital. At RMHD, we serve 3 meals a day with the support of groups that work with our chef to prepare a meal for our families. We also have group volunteers host a variety of activities for the families to provide some fun and joy in what is often an extremely stressful time for them.
